About Us
Modular Mobile was founded in 2016 in response to an ongoing Google project.
In 2018, the Modular Mobile team was re-inforced by engineers from the digital department of a known semiconductor company. We currently employ <10 engineers.
A functioning and stable team is the key to success. Engineers from Modular Mobile have worked successfully together well prior to 2016
and we gain customer's trust and our satisfaction from mutual respect and tolerance for each other.
We do not see us only as a customer's work bench, but engage with our customers for a deep team experience.
Beyond technical aspects we feel responsilbe for the success of the entire operation, supporting their marketing material, sales trainings, logistics and quality assurance.

Our Founders
Jürgen Urban
Jürgen is the founder and CEO of Modular Mobile. He has collected more than 25 years of experience in the microelectronics industry.
Prior to ramping up Modular Mobile he held a Senior Manager position in the semiconductor branch of a renowned Electronics company.
Jürgen has a solid understanding of the technical and commercial aspects of the entire ASIC design flow from system conception into production.
Through his contribution to standardization bodies like JEDEC and Mipi, he is tightly connected with the international micro electronics industry.
Backed on a strong, stable and service oriented engineering team, Modular Mobile can turn this expertise into a unique and continuous customer satisfaction.

Heiner Wiese
Heiner graduated to Dipl.Ing. of Electrical Engineering in 2004. Heiner joined Modular Mobile GmbH in April 2018 as a co-founder. together with the other co-founders, he influences the strategic business direction of the company.

Hendrik Lange
Hendrik started his professional career as a research assistant at the Circuits and Systems Lab at University of Dortmund,
where he was focusing on research on reconfigurable processor architectures for signal processing applications.
After finishing his doctoral thesis, he joined a fabless engineering services provider, and was responsible for several large VLSI and FPGA design projects for various customers.
Hendrik's deep algorithmic expertise and open-minded customer approach helps customers realizing their state-of-the art systems.
Hendrik has 18 years of experience in the micro electronic industry and worked already for several years together with today's engineering team before he decided in 2018
to join Modular Mobile as a co-owner.

Björn Behrens
Björn holds a degree in Electrical Engineering from Aachen University of Technology, where he was focusing on research on Viterbi algorithm and forward error correction with Turbo Codes.
He has a strong background in concept and system design, ASIC and FPGA implementation, verification and validation.
Björn has 25 years of experience in the telecommunications and mobile industry. He is a forceful and fearless electronics Jedi and there is virtually any task, you can throw at him.
Customers value him not only for his rich knowledge, but benefit from Björn's consultancy through his unexcited, competent and calm communication.
